Brooke Burlage opened Madison Avenue Dance Studio in Madison, SD in 2011. The studio originated out of a small, no-frills, space with 60 dancers during the first year. Brooke taught each and every class. With lots of hard work and support from wonderful dance families, Madison Avenue Dance Studio grew to two full time studios in Madison and Brookings, with roughly 300 dancers enrolled each season. Now, Brooke is happy to work alongside 6 amazing staff members. We are grateful we get to do what we love!
We strive to provide our students with lifelong skills of grace, discipline and confidence through the art of dance. We specialize in classical ballet, tap, jazz, pom, hip hop, lyrical, musical theatre and competitive dance.
Our studio allows students to experience dance in a modern and professional atmosphere. We try to make classes a balance between 'fundamentals' and 'fun', while requiring a level of commitment and independence as dancers learn to develop their skills. With a large emphasis on technique, students truly learn the art of dance. We take pride in impacting the lives of our dancers, their families and the community by offering the very best dance experience possible.
In addition to dance, we push our dancers to develop important life skills; learning to be respectful, confident and conscientious people who share their gifts and talents with the community.
MADISON AVENUE DANCE PROVIDES QUALITY DANCE INSTRUCTION IN A MODERN AND PROFESSIONAL ATMOSPHERE.
"Our daughter has been dancing at Madison Avenue Dance Studio for over 7 years, and she LOVES IT! We truly appreciate all the compassion, experience, and fun the instructors provider to their classes. They even noticed once that she was having a difficult time with a dance, and helped us schedule a one on one to make her feel more comfortable with it. She has learned not only some killer dance moves, but her grace, balance, and rhythm have improved throughout the years. We truly appreciate having the studio available in Madison!"
